Vogue Dolls, Incorporated had great success with a line of popular dolls. Ginny became one of Vogue's most popular dolls. She was an 8" doll with an extensive wardrobe, furniture, and accessories. Jennie H. Adler Graves created and developed Vogue. What began as a cottage industry of sewing clothes for dolls grew into the largest U.S. doll by 1957. I began collecting Ginny dolls in October 2000. Over these past eight years, I have added many Ginny dolls, doll furniture, and accessories to my collection. Also, in my collection, I have some Nancy Ann Storybook 8" Muffie dolls. I have used two books to help me in my research on the Vogue dolls. They are "That Doll, Ginny" by Jeanne Du Chateau Niswanger, and "Collector's Encyclopedia of Vogue Dolls Identification and Values" by Judith Izen and Carol Stover. |
